also got the voting results...
I tied the champion GM for executive trophy but I got the award because I had more first place votes.
I finished 3rd in Masterton voting, but didn't figure I'd win since it's just my 3rd season.
Poni crushed everyone in the Hart voting, he had 46 points. Joe Thornton was 2nd with 28
Terry Crisp was 2nd in Jack Adams voting.
Brian Elliott was 2nd in Vezina voting.
Pretty cool to see, I think i'll release the NLHS vote results in future seasons.

Not bad!
Devils take a tie for the Patrick lead with a 3-1 win over the Penguins. Campbell with a PPG, Oates with two PPGs. Special teams incredible, goaltending fantastic, and brilliant at faceoffs!

ICHL random fact: halfway through the preseason, my only loss was to Ryan's Islanders. And that was on the old (new?) client which had goal totals through the roof (i.e. a 55-0 game in farm that was the one that made us change)

this is why it's important to run several tests when you consider changing settings in the simulator... I like where NLHS is at, scoring is high but not ridiculous, when you consider that very few goons and low skill players are on the pro rosters, and there is no way to simulate complex defensive systems, and there's no clutching/grabbing and other interference being simulated, you could realistically see the NHL with numbers close to NLHS but probably just a little lower.

Geez, I couldn't even top that in any NHL video game.... crap!

once I almost did, with the Flyers I beat the Caps 50-2 in NHL96
20 goals in the first, 9 in the second and 21 in the third. And that was probably 14 years ago now, still remember how great it was. I had one move that worked every time when your team was scoring on the net at the bottom of the screen (first and third in this game) but couldn't score as easily on the net at the top of the screen.

I have the opposite problem in all the other NHL games. I haven't played NHL 95 in a while though, I should hook up my Genesis again and try it.

Aubin stops 29, Devils back to the top of the Patrick with 2 GIH on second-place Pittsburgh with a 2-1 edging of Philadelphia.
Oates, after nothing in the first 3 games of the preseason, has been playing like a man possessed in the last 3 with 4 goals and 2 assists, bringing him one point shy of tops on the team behind the duo of Brian Campbell and Jeremy Stevenson.
First in goals-against, 19th in goals for.

Patrick so far in ICHL
1. New Jersey Devils 4-1-1 - 9 Points - Leading Scorers: B. Campbell, J. Stevenson (7 P) 2. Pittsburgh Penguins - 4-2-1 - 9 Points - Leading Scorer: P. Ysebaert (19 P) 3. NY Rangers - 4-3-0 - 8 Points - Leading Scorer: K. Miller (13 P) 4. Philadelphia Flyers - 2-3-2 - 6 Points - Leading Scorer: P. Housley (17 P) 5. NY Islanders - 2-3-1 - 5 Points - Leading Scorer: P. LaFontaine (13 P) 6. Washington Capitals - 0-4-3 - 3 Points - Leading Scorer: S. Samsonov (7 P)
Evidently my Devils don't win with offense...but Terreri and Aubin are rock-steady in goal.

I noticed a couple fellow GMs joined this new league nhl2.comShould be interesting and look forward with competing with you there too. If anyone is interested in running an entire organization dealing with cap implications, free agents, trades, prospects and draft picks then I would recommend checking out these leagues. Both leagues are filled with sharp hockey minds and there is plenty of discussion and debate. fantasynhlgm.conforums.com/index.cgi (brand new as of last month, Im the Panthers) nestars31.conforums.com/index.cgi (1 year old and Im the Kings) There are waiting lists for both leagues if anyone is interested and the brand new league could have some turnover since we still don't know the level of commitment from some GMs. I sit on the TAB (trade advisory board) for both leagues and have some say so if anyone's interested and a spot becomes available there is a chance I could get you bumped to the front of the line.

Me and Paul just missed the GM cut for NHL2, but we are #1 & #2 respectively on the waiting list, so maybe we will see some action some day there.

The commish seems to be really insistent on active GMs. Wouldn't be surprised if you end up getting in before the start.
