After dominating the pre-season with 10 straight wins to finish 2nd in the league (with a +16 GD, tied for 3rd, and leading possession with most time with the puck and most time spent outside the d-zone), I have my home opener tonight against division rival Chicago, who I play 7 times and split the pre-season series with 1-1.
This in the SHS.

I'm 4-4-3 with a garbage team sitting in a playoff spot if the season ended now. A few power houses are mysteriously struggling in Drouin's draft year.

My Blues are 1-1 to start OGSHL. Season opener consisted of a 6-0 thrashing of Tampa. Strange ending to that game as even though I'm up by 6, Brent Seabrook decides to lose it on Tampa's Patrick Sharp and get a game misconduct and a 1 game suspension.
Game two was a disappointing 5-1 loss to Washington. That game featured some bizarre action as well. See the game notes here: "Game Notes Kevan Miller and Francois Beauchemin fight to a draw at 17:04 of 1st period Martin Jones enters game at 3:48 of 3rd period General Fight at 11:20 of 3rd period Kevan Miller and Francois Beauchemin fight to a draw at 11:20 of 3rd period Kevan Miller ejected from game at 11:20 of 3rd period Kevan Miller from Washington Capitals is suspended for 3 game(s) Frans Nielsen beats up Loui Eriksson at 11:20 of 3rd period David Desharnais ejected from game at 11:20 of 3rd period"
Honestly Nielsen in a fight?? What the hell is a "general fight"?
I wonder what game three has in store.

Oh, and I am also rigting an excel sheet to calculate corsi among other advanced stats using the detailed play-by-play. Currently have all the individual events parsed and attributed to players on the ice (short of players coming out of the penalty box and last minute lines), so next step is fixing those 2 and then parsing each event to add to each player's total for each event...
Fun shit. This adds to my current possession chart I already have.

David Desharnais must have went Phil "the lumberjack" Kessel on someone, cause honestly its not like he can do any damage at 5'7"

4-0 start for my Wild, taking down the two Pacific division powerhouses in the process. One of 3 teams to start 4 and 0, the other one being a division rival in the Blues.
