Last thread went over 1,000 posts. Figured that's a good number to shut it down and start a new one for the next season.

I'm laughing at the Leaf fans that are panicking because they can't re-up Franson and Kadri, because a lot of them were the same people celebrating the Clarkson signing.

And on that topic, why the hell do the Leafs have both Orr AND McLaren?! McLaren at least has an iota of hockey playing ability, although it's very small. Orr is terrible.

What about the people celebrating buying out Grabovski while simultaneously signing Bozak. Talk about out of the frying pan and into the fire...

Almost like Burmistrov in Winnipeg, only Burmi was rushed as well. If you look at the possession metrics (Corsi and stuff like that), Burmi was incredible.

Since the Leafs have the largest fan base we also have the loudest on the internet so unfortunately you hear a lot of dumb opinions from Leafs fans like the people who celebrated keeping Bozak and buying out Grabovski. Most "intelligent" Leafs fans have been pretty disappointed with this offseason and how we went from an amazing cap situation to right up against it with only debatable improvements. I am a big proponent of the advanced statistical movement and find my thoughts and opinions often align with people from this blog www.pensionplanpuppets.com/ that site has a lot of true Leafs fans and not just the loud dumb bandwagoners that don't know hockey, but talk like they do. Also I would suggest to the Jets fan not to throw stones when you live in a glass house lol. The Leafs are the superior organization in comparison to the Atlanta Jets and many teams can brag about their teams being better, but Winnipeg is definitely not one of them. Orr and Mclaren both are bad hockey players, but you have Peluso, Thorburn, Slater, a washed up overpaid Jokinen and a below average overpaid starter. I hope Schiefele and Trouba become stars since the Jets are a bad team who won't have the SouthLeast division to inflate their point total this upcoming season and are staring at another season of disappointment and no playoffs and as a Leafs fan I know EXACTLY how it feels to cheer for a bad team haha.

Peluso is still young, they're hoping he becomes a guy like Shawn Thornton (and before he got hurt, he did have two assists the game before that). And hey, if we need a fighter, why not have a guy that WINS fights? I saw his first career fight live, against a veteran Barch, and he simply destroyed him. Thorburn....meh, he won't be seeing much time this year, with the additions of Halischuk and Frolik bumping Wright and Tangradi onto the fourth with Slater. Slater I find to be underrated. He's solid on draws, especially in the defensive zone. He's fast, and forechecks hard. He also kills penalties. He's also a soft-spoken leader in the locker room and a big community guy. I honestly like him as a 4C, as long as Scheifele can play 3C or 2C out of camp. (Could you imagine him if he could play as 2C? Kane and Seto will have a field day) Jokinen...I'll direct you to AIH. My views often align with the people there. www.arcticicehockey.com/statistics/2013/8/7/4563406/winnipeg-jets-olli-jokinen-stats Pavelec is overpaid and below average, and I'm still pissed that they re-upped Montoya for the freakin' minimum. Noel will just overplay Pav again, even though I like Montoya a bit more. Plus, who had our only shutout last year? Monty. aaaaaaaand then he got hurt the very next game....and Noel refused to even TRY Pasquale. Please be NHL ready quickly, Eric Comrie.... SouthLeast didn't really inflate our point totals, we were actually above .500 outside of it, although we didn't play against the West...but I'm confident we CAN make the playoffs. The question is, will they? I think they'll squeak in as a WC with either Dallas or Phoenix. Don't really see Vancouver making it this year as they don't have the Northwest (just as bad, if not worse, than the Southeast) inflating their point totals (they'll still have the Flames, but the Oilers improved drastically, and the Avs went to the Central)

Plus this year it appears as though Buff may (GASP) ACTUALLY BE FIT. Could you imagine a fit Byfuglien? That's just scary.

Fun fact: I have Byfuglien's rookie card. You have it? Bitch I SAW him in the AHL, as well as Keith, Seabrook, Anderson, Wisniewski, Shawn Thornton, Crawford, Brouwer, Parenteau, Versteeg, Rene Bourque.... Those N-Ads teams were surprisingly good NHLers yet they never got out of round 1 in the AHL haha

Also, I AM sick of people calling us Atlanta, when in fact we only have two contracts on the books given out by the Thrashers: Chris Thorburn and Dustin Byfuglien, plus our ownership - unlike Atlanta Spirit - gives a fuck.

One has to wonder if the NHL will try to top anything that happened in 2012-13 with something better?? As well, I do hope it will be all good and gravy from now.. still am debating if I should order NHL Center Ice (havent even had that before so wanna see some more games with plenty of choices than having to deal with streamed games via laptop...)
