This Kane bidding war in NLHS reminds me of an awesome story, not sure if I've told it....
I'm in Columbus the day before Round 1 of the 2007 draft, where he went first overall, right? So my mom, my brother, and I are walking around the Blue Jackets' store (BlueLine) and who do we see in there but Kane himself. So we're looking around and Kane's on the phone with someone, and asked a question. What was the all-important question?
"What shirt size do I wear?"

One has to wonder if the NHL will try to top anything that happened in 2012-13 with something better?? As well, I do hope it will be all good and gravy from now.. still am debating if I should order NHL Center Ice (havent even had that before so wanna see some more games with plenty of choices than having to deal with streamed games via laptop...) I had center ice for a few seasons, it's awesome if you like watching hockey every night. I saw so many more games than ever before, so it's definitely worth the money in that case. However, if you only want to see a few games here and there, maybe you're better off just trying to find a free stream online.

I hate August...doldrums of the offseason. Someone should offer sheet Pietrangelo just to make it interesting

Yeah that is why I wanna see some different games and havent seen some teams go against some teams in a long time or not seen one team vs the other team before so I do have a checklist of who I have seen some teams play against other teams on tv or in person.. the Jets 2.0 I managed to see 2 games in person and the rest I managed to check off 27 other teams vs Wpg in the first year so really nice to see different teams and matchups etc.. will have to wait till mid Sept to order the NHL Center Ice package for sure...

Essentially you get nothing that is broadcast anywhere near you. I skipped it last year, but I would watch hockey night in canada over the air and watch like Capitals v Canes or stuff that you never see locally. I found myself watching a lot of games the day after, then you had no ads. They also put together two different highlight packages. One that was a minute and a half and one that was about ten minutes, which were awesome to see how plays develop and for good defense, which always gets left out of highlights.
I think i'll get it again, now that i'm talking about it.

I've made it to 9 or 10 Jets games each of these 2 seasons. Our family is on the waiting list for season tickets so on game days the leftover seats are offered to the wait list members so I usually get tickets that way. The most memorable game I saw was probably the first Jets 2.0 win in October 2011 vs. Pittsburgh. Also was at the 1-0 overtime win in 2011 against L.A. the year the Kings won the cup, so that was very cool. I like TSN Jets' coverage for the rest of the Jets games, even though their play-by-play is pretty rough. The past couple years I haven't watched many other NHL games aside from Winnipeg's, but I get to see most of the teams against the Jets. It'll be fun seeing the western teams more often this year, I occasionally watch St. Louis/Edmonton/LA/Minnesota/Chicago but I'm looking forward to seeing those teams more often with the realignment.

Yeah it's always fun going to games there. The only other NHL game I've been to was a Panthers-Lightning game at BB&T Center in Florida. It was pretty sad to see the lack of energy there, and I'm sure there are a dozen or so teams with the same atmosphere. It used to drive me crazy seeing empty arenas on TV and knowing that Winnipeg could sell out every single night
