Pre-draft and free agency depth chart
C: (8) Toews, Carter, Bergeron, Barkov, Vermette, Laich, Jankowski, Josefson LW: (7) Seguin, Ladd, Kane, Gerbe, Mantha, Kulemin, Thornton RW: (8) Selanne, Kessel, Yakupov, Korpikowski, Frolik, Coyle, Dano, Kassian D: (11) Weber, Hedman, Del Zotto, Schenn, Johnson, Hamilton, Klefbom, Carle, Gleason, Gryba, Falk G: (3) Bobrovsky, Khudobin, Johnson
Given that we've traded away our 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounders this year we'll only have the two compensatory picks and a 4th rounder. That will bring us up to a 40 man roster, leaving the team a mandate to be very active in free agency this year...

This year's entry draft saw a little more action than anticipated as the Tigers moved Jack Johnson to the 67s for the 3rd overall pick and then quickly flipped that to regain Hamilton's own, Darnell Nurse. After bringing in Weber and likely seeing some marked improvement from Hedman, the blueline was looking pretty crowded and in Jack's best interest to get more playing time in Ottawa. After waiting for the first three rounds to run, the Tigers picked up three young prospects in winger Matt Nieto, defenceman Tyler Wotherspoon and backstop Anders Nilsson. While all three will be in Wolfville for the time being, we hope they all make the big club down the line.
