The dominoes continue to fall as the Tigers announce Joel Quennville has agreed to a multi-year deal as the head coach. Tigers GM Jon Clark was quoted as "It was pretty public knowledge he has a long standing friendship with Dan Brown and hence had an interest in the Scouts' recently filled position. But he was the guy we wanted all along and while it's difficult, sometimes you just need to wait for the universe to unfold. We appreciate the efforts Pete has contributed his all to the organization in it's innaugural year and we wish him the best going forward, but as I contemplated the relocation, I realized that perhaps our styles were not compatible."

Given that today will be the first time that this organization will have a franchise player, it seems natural to reveal who that is, and what their road jersey will look like. Home jersey to follow at the entry draft.

As the 2013 dispersal draft concludes, Tigers management is very pleased to have made key additions to roster. At the onset of the draft it was believed that the prudent approach would be to forgo current production in favour of talented youth, but as it worked out, we were able to acquire both. The five players joining the roster in advance of next season are: RW/C Steven Stamkos D Drew Doughty G Sergei Bobrovsky LW Andrew Ladd C/LW Brayden Schenn

If you get a re-rate on Ladd and Bobrovsky, I think the playoffs will be coming to Hamilton. Good draft!

Hamilton fans had best hope the scouting staff has done their homework as The Tigers have traded up in the draft. Ben Bishop, the man that was the franchise future in goal a mere two weeks ago, was packaged with the 15th overall pick and next year's 1st rounder to move up to the fourth overall selection in this year's draft. The GM spoke with the press, "You hate to lose a talent like that just as he's putting it together, but with selecting Bobrovsky in the draft and subsequently trading for Markstrom we found ourselves in the enviable position of having 3 potential future starters. From our scouting report we feel that in moving Ben we should be able to draft a blue chip prospect and also he'll get the opportunity to succeed in a starting role".
The Tigers enter the NLHS4 entry draft with the 1st, 4th, 9th and 21st picks in what should be a franchise defining draft.

No worries, I saw the update to roster page. Figured I'd get something typed up before I turned in for the night.

Heading into free agency, it's probably time for a recap.
First, the biggest trade in Tigers history happened. It didn't take long as the Tigers first franchise player has already been sent on the move. Steve Stamkos was moved cross country to the Metropolitans to form one of the most intimidating one-two punches imaginable in NLHS being paired up with Sidney Crosby. The franchise RW was moved for all-star sniping RW Phil Kessel, young prospects Cody Hodgson and Dougie Hamilton and a future first round selection. GM Clark was quoted as "You always hate to lose the best player in a trade, and Stamkos was certainly that player, but Phil is an excellent player in his own right and the quality of other players included in the deal relunctantly moved us in going in this direction. Hopefully making this trade before Stamkos played his first game at Copps Colliseum will soften the blow."
With all new additions to the team being 25 or younger the future of the Tigers appears to be bright taking the NLHS 4 draft into account. The Tigers additions after moving up prior to the draft are:
1st overall - Nathan MacKinnon (C) 4th overall - Alexander Barkov (C) 7th overall - Darnell Nurse (D) 21st overall - Anthony Mantha (LW) 44th overall - Charlie Coyle (RW) 51st overall - Roman Cervenka (C) 56th overall - Marko Dano (RW) 58th overall - Anton Khudobin (G) 89th overall - Chad Johnson (G) 109th overall - Eric Gryba (D)
Additions to the team were clearly made looking to future seasons with a few players expected to contribute right away. Certainly looking for an entertaining season in Wolfville.

Hamilton added some strength to the blue line in the opening day of free agency acquiring Luke Schenn and Dimitri Kulikov with both players expected to start in the NLHS next season. Also added was project RW Zack Kassian who holds tremendous promise but has yet to put it all together. It is expected that he'll spend at least the next season in Wolfville.

Kassian was the only guy I was outbid on. I think I offered him like 725K

I figured it ends up being just over 100k on the farm and if he can get his shit together he'll be a steal at just over 1M in NLHS.

I like the cheapo deals I got for Holland and Bonino. If they get it together, man that could be impressive. Scandella too.

The Tigers were active again acquiring two LWs. Clune it's expected to spend some time in Wolfville, with Michalek joining Hamilton, assuming the effective goal scorer arrives at training camp without injuring himself.
