Goodlettsville TN won a CRAZY Little League World Series game today against California. Goodlettsville is the next town over from me, and this is all that anyone has been talking about at work for the last week. They'll be playing Japan tomorrow for the championship!

I bet it is, you can tell just by watching. I know my little league teams were never even close to that level, heck, having me on the team pretty much guaranteed a loss. I was the kid dancing around in the outfield picking dandelions

I played second base and was pretty good in 2003, 2004, and 2005, but completely busted offensively in 2006....that's when I dropped out of LL I actually moved to third base that year. My brother, however, was a monster...Sometime in the late 90s he hit THREE home runs in All-Stars Also, Williamsport is just an hour away and change....AND NOW HAS THE FHL DEFENDING CHAMPION OUTLAWS!!! They'll play every home game outdoors at Bowman Field.

Anyone else watch today's Major League Lacrosse championship game? The Chesapeake BayHawks completely smoked the Denver Outlaws (who yesterday won their semi-final after falling behind 12-3 to my favorite team, Long Island...the Outlaws won 13-12) by a score of 16-6. Denver had ONE GOAL during the entire second half.
Also, Joe Benanati cracked me up on air, telling his color guy "if you say Rocko's Tacos I will slap you" late in the fourth quarter. I forgot what the lead-in was.
FWIW Lax is a quickly-growing sport and one I'm fond of, especially since field is as close to hockey as I'm gonna get in summer.

I forgot what the lead-in was. FWIW Lax is a quickly-growing sport and one I'm fond of, especially since field is as close to hockey as I'm gonna get in summer. It's not popular AT ALL in the south. There's no lacrosse or field hockey here anywhere. I did enjoy it in the mid 90's when MILL (Major Indoor Lacrosse League) was active. The Philadelphia Wings were awesome with brothers Paul and Gary Gates. It was pretty similar to hockey, they had boards, checking and a penalty box, with a much smaller field than outdoor lacrosse. The boards actually helped most in that the ball was always in play, shame that it's a mostly northeastern sport, that league was awesome.

That league is still around as the NLL (National Lacrosse League) as are the Wings.
