Danny Taylor has become the first Brit in 9 years to win an NHL game, as the Flames defeat Vancouver 4-2. (The last Brit to win a game was Byron Dafoe in 2003-04 with the Thrashers)

"The NHLPA has approved the proposed realignment of divisions. It will be re-evaluated after the 2014-15 NHL season."
So in other words, just in time for the Coyotes to move to Quebec City!

I'll still have the Flyers. No matter how many times I try to dump them, I keep coming back.
I do like Tampa a lot though, and I like Colorado but with them in the Division that will probably change pretty quick. Not excited about the Jets and Wild really, but the rest of the division will be fun. On the surface it would seem like losing Detroit would be devastating, but the Nashville fans are really past Detroit now and I think Dallas is going to QUICKLY replace them as a heated rival, something that the Wings really aren't anymore.

There is going to have to be some sort of cross over option for the wild cards, with 14 vs 16 teams in the west and east.

There is going to have to be some sort of cross over option for the wild cards, with 14 vs 16 teams in the west and east. There isn't. And there shouldn't be, even though the EST fans will complain about it. It's a tradeoff financially. The East has A LOT less travel expenses, plus a lot more traditional rivalries to generate revenue. The West has a higher % chance of making the playoffs and earning that bonus revenue. East fans will bitch and claim how ridiculously unfair it is, but they've been spoiled for a long, long time so of course they'll complain. It's a difference of ONE less team to compete with for the last playoff spot, so it's really a very minimal difference. I'm actually a big fan of it for financial reasons, but with expansion in two seasons it won't matter anyway since we'll be at 16/16 at that point.

Part of why I'm enjoying Chicago's streak is it takes attention away from the Eastern teams. Other than Boston none of them have won anything since 2009 and even that's with an asterisk because the Wings outscored the Pens in that series

I still find it funny that Detroit is /was a "Western Conference" team for the longest time. About as odd as Winnipeg being in the Eastern Conference in the CFL.

They were on ESPN today trying to compare the NBA's HEAT to the Blackhawks... seriously what the Blackhawks are doing is completely unprecedented. I hate them as much or more than any NHL team now, but I am seriously enjoying this run they are on and just enjoying being able to see something that i'll probably never see again, regardless of who the team is.
The NBA always has one of the big teams (Lakers, Heat, Bulls, Celtics, Mavs) on some kind of streak.
