Carolina is assembling a pretty decent lineup If and this is a big IF Semin can learn how to play at both ends of the ice he will be a good add I just do not think he can.

I'm hearing rumors about Luongo to the Islanders. Not sure if they have any weight to them, but this one rumored trade would see Luongo, Ballard, and Vancouver's first round pick in 2013 for Strome and Nabokov.

Glorious Google Translate:
Coyotes: Jamison would not have the funds Saturday, July 28, 2012 RDS.ca Greg Jamison (AP)
Greg Jamison (AP)
Greg Jamison would be short of $ 20 million to purchase the Phoenix Coyotes, and thus keep the team in Glendale, according to reports the Phoenix Business Journal.
There remains hope for the businessman. This last attempt to woo new investors to raise the missing amount.
Forbes magazine recently progressed, however, that investors were reluctant to engage, despite the annual subsidy of $ 15 million over 20 years, the City of Glendale.

I think what it's saying is that people are wary of investing in the Coyotes, despite that subsidy being given by Gongdale.

Kansas City has always been one of the cities mentioned when it comes to relocation of an NHL team, and I think they'd stand a good chance of being more financially successful than the Coyotes in Phoenix. That being said, out of all the 4 American cities that constantly get mentioned for getting an NHL team, I feel that Houston has the best chance for success.

Houston would do decent, but it would be the end of the Aeros which would suck for the AHL.
IIRC, when Nashville, Atlanta, Minnesota and Columbus entered, there were seven strong finalists which also included Houston, Indianapolis and Kansas City. So there was obviously at least some interest back in 1996 in those markets.
The Devils were on the verge of relocating to Nashville just previous to that expansion, so if that had happened, the Houston bid would likely have been the 4th expansion team.
