The Nova Scotia Titans suffered a brutal 6-2 loss to the Regina Renegades in Saskatchewan. Owner/GM Jonathan Hiseler was seen after the game, and he made it clear that was not happy about the result. It's believed that he will have back-up goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury start in the second part of the home-and-home series back in the Halifax Metro Centre on Tuesday.

The Nova Scotia Titans suffered a close 6-5 loss to the Barrie Colts today. Titans Owner/General Manager Jonathan Hiseler made it very clear that he is not happy with the poor preseason results so far, and that changes are in order. Talking with him after the game, Hiseler had this to say:
"I need to shake things up a bit. Hopefully some line changes can work and provide a much needed spark, otherwise a slow start to the regular season may mean some trades are in order..."
Hiseler also confirmed that, barring a catastrophic result, goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury will start the last two preseason games and be the starting goaltender for the Titan's regular season opener.
"Him and Daniel (Sedin) are the only reasons why we aren't at the bottom of the heap right now. Hopefully other guys on the team will look at their game and step it up on Monday in Minneapolis."
While we don't know for sure what those changes may entail, we have a feeling that the Sedin twins will be split onto different lines, and higher performers will be promoted accordingly, with the same going for those who aren't. (I'm looking at you, Chris Stewart!)

Titans Drop Season Opener Lose 6-2 Decision to KentuckyPhilipp Cridland, Sports Reporter HALIFAX, Nova Scotia - The disappointing results that the Nova Scotia Titans had in the preseason have carried on into the regular season, as they dropped a 6-2 decision to the Kentucky Racers Saturday at the Halifax Metro Centre. The first period was uneventful, but the same could not be said of the second period. Patrick Marleau of the Kentucky Racers opened up the scoring 5:11 into the second frame, after his shot went off Titans defenseman Alexander Edler and past goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury. A couple of minutes later though, the Titans would tie it up, with Sheldon Souray getting his first ever regular season goal for Nova Scotia. Even quicker after that, the Racers retook the lead, with Drew Stafford sniping a nice shot past Marc-Andre Fleury. David Krecji scored later in the second to make it 3-1 for Kentucky after 40 minutes. The game really became out of reach after two quick goals from P.A. Parenteau and Joe Pavelski made it 5-1 only 4 1/2 minutes into the third period. Jarome Iginla scored a couple minutes later to make it 5-2, but Danny Briere scored with about 4 1/2 minutes left in the game to cement the final score of 6-2. The Nova Scotia Titans will now travel to Winnipeg next the play the Jets on Monday.
