The Hunter and Trader will be the official news source for the Edmonton Mountain Men and the Jasper Trappers. Very nice article. "Your" Oilers can indeed take down the pics of the glory days of the '80's. Your team is gonna no-doubt write some fresh history in NLHS soon!

The Hunter ANd Trader With Sports Reporter: Albert Johnson
Well, Albert Johnson, the Mad Trapper here with a MAJOR Trade announcement. Mountain Men GM, Kevin Lomas, has just announced that Drew Doughty will be joining his Edmonton Team this week. To acquire the All Star defensemen Lomas had to sell some of the future but his attitude is lets Win Now and Later. Not one to shy away from a big trade, Lomas dealt high NHL draft picks Sam Reinhart, Kirby Rychel, Nick Scmaltz, and up and coming NHL ready defencemen Michael Stone to Winnipeg in a package for Doughty. Another smaller trade that will also be processed this week will see Mark Fistric and Tim Erixon head of to the Dallas Pistols in exchange for highly touted American Alex Tuch and last years draft pick Shea Theodore. This was a draft day deal that was not finalized by the commissioner until this past week. Lomas also took this opportunity to welcome newly signed free agents to the fold. Heading the newly signed batch of players is NHL All Star Chris Kunitz. Kunitz signed a long term no movement contract with the Mountain Men. Kunitz had this to say “ Mr.Lomas obviously wants to win and that was the talk of the league amonst the players. He isn’t afraid to spend the money to attract some talent and quite frankly…I wanted to play for him. I am really looking forward to playing with Geno on the Top line.” The Mountain men also added NHL depth vets Manny Moholtra, Dany Heatley, and Matt Cooke to their forward ranks, and Brooks Orpik, Andrew Ferrance, Derrick Morris, Michal Rozsival , Doug Murray, Steve Montador, and Paul Martin, to the totally rebuilt Defense corp. Niklas Backstrom will now be backing up Jonathan Quick.
“Lomas must be as mad as I am” The Mad Trapper, Albert Johnson signing off.
