When I had seats, they were $12/seat and I got them for $10/seat for the season ticket discount. So less than $1700 for a full season of two seats. Then you had to buy the entire playoffs in one shot which was still only another $250 for both seats and any unused portion was credited to next season's tickets. My seats weren't even that terrible, near the front of the upper deck. Of course I always enjoyed the very last row best anyway, there's literally not a bad seat in Bridgestone Arena.
Of course you're looking at close to 50 games when you include the pre-season and the first round of playoffs which is how far the Preds went back then. That's actually a TON of games to go to in person when you consider getting into downtown and parking, then driving out again and back home late at night, many times on weeknights. I think the 1/4 or 1/2 season package would have been a lot better for me. These days those same seats are $20-30 anyway, my sister still has tickets (pharmacist $$$$), but i'm only at a handful of games now.
Still, how many people get to say that they've seen EVERY team in the NHL live?
Been to a live game in every season that your team has existed?
Been there for the first EVERYTHING in your team's existence? I saw the first game, first goal, first win, first playoff game, goal and win.
Walked the dressing room for your team?
Skated your team's ice?
Watched your team draft their franchise player live in your city? (Weber in 2003, though we didn't know it then )
Plus the countless greats i've seen in person, topped by Gretzky going with 5 assists in his only visit to Nashville in '99 and I was there.
And of course there was the whole rallying of the fans and the city as a whole to save our team from the clutches of Jim Balsillie and Hamilton, I still own a whole drawer full of "Save The Predators" t-shirts and wear it all the time.
I have had a lot of difficulties with things in my personal life, but I still have to say that i've been pretty damn privileged as far as hockey goes and that's such a big part of me, both the Predators and the game in general that I really wouldn't trade anything for the experiences that i've had. Although a Cup parade down Broadway would be pretty sweet!!!
