Mariners GM Justin Fox was just seen exiting the team's locker room at Spectrum II....he reportedly gave an Al Pacino-like speech with some Herb Brooks thrown in to try and motivate his Mariners, down in a 2-0 hole and having to win 4 of 5, including at least twice on the road.

Mariners dodge a bullet today... but the Legion also lost game 3 to the Wranglers last year and won the series 4-1...
Titans unfortunately look like their season is over, down 3-0 and no Edler, that's tough Jon

While whatever the Mariners GM did worked, the Nova Scotia Titans find themselves in a deep hole, but they aren't giving up hope yet, as they aim to channel the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs, the 1975 New York Islanders and the 2010 Philadelphia Flyers in pulling off the ultimate comeback in Games 4, 5 , 6 and 7. They will have to accomplish this task without Alexander Edler though, as their top defenseman is out of commission for three weeks with a broken bone in his left ankle after being hit by the Montreal Wanderers' Kris Letang.
Also, not going 0/4 on the fucking power-play would help too. At any rate, the Titans will try to stave off elimination from the playoffs starting with Game 4 Saturday night in Montreal.

The Hornets are breaking down the D of the Jets in scoring 6 goals every game! The 2nd and 3rd lines are also contributing in on a few goals. Mike Smith is definately a playoff goalie!!!!!! It would be nice to finish off the Jets on Saturday and have a break before the next round. What ever you said to your team Justin produced a win!!!!! Wow the Titans are in a deep hole and the Wanderers are playing awesome. I am still cheering for the Pistols to beat the Mavs!!!!!

Wandies have won 7 in a row to start the playoffs. That's gotta be a record.

Better analysis on M's/Legion - i was at the WBS/Providence game earlier.
-Orlov with a MONSTER game, proving that i'm not cracked out of my mind for drafting him at #4.
-Spezza with two clutch assists and getting shunned as a star. Sad that two big assists aren't as good as a goal that in the endgame didn't matter.
-Henrique 3-9 on faceoffs - yikes
-MacDonald and Burns -2 - double yikes
-Lehner. What can I say about him? Dude's a beast. Played his ass off in Games 1 and 2 but questionable officiating and undisciplined play killed us. He deserves this win.
-Enstrom = incredible. Takeaways, blocked shots, shutdown D....and an assist to boot.

It's a best of three now. Lehner with an unreal performance. Legwand kept the Legion in it.

Winnipeg's 7-0 win is the first playoff shutout since the Western Conference Final in 2011 when Jimmy Howard stopped all 27 Winnipeg shots in a 2-0 Kitchener victory. The Herbalists lost the series in seven.
The only other playoff shutout was Brian Elliott's 29-save blanking of Ottawa in Game 4 of the 2011 Eastern Conference Semifinals as the Mariners completed their sweep of the first-place and favored 67's

Speaking of stats:
-Robin Lehner has taken the Mariners lead in all-time playoff wins with his sixth, passing Brian Elliott's five.
-Dmitry Orlov (!) has broken the Mariners' record for playoff plus-minus at +8, leapfrogging Zach Parise, Marian Gaborik, and Henrik Sedin.

Also, maybe it's just because I'm his GM, but has anyone noticed how good Orlov's been in the playoffs?
