To give you a sense of how good Carleton University is, they only lost 4 times this season: to the University of Windsor by 4 points, to the University of Nevada at Las Vegas by 4 points, to Villanova University by 6 points, and to La Salle University by 3 points.

Holy upset Batman!
#15 Florida Gulf Coast University beat #2 Georgetown 78-68 in NCAA Men's Basketball action. There's a lot of cool facts about this win and about FGCU too:
FGCU has only had a Division I team for 6 years.
FGCU has only been offering classes since 1997, and didn't have their own residences until the next year.
This was only FGCU's second year of eligibility for the playoffs.
So, as a result this is their first playoff win. (Which means they have one more than Northwestern lol)
The family of Ben Hill Griffin Jr. donated the 760 acres of land that FGCU's campus is located on.
As a tribute, their campus is located just off of Ben Hill Griffin Parkway.
Griffin also contributed a ton of money to the University of Florida's sports teams. Also, the University of Florida's football stadium is named after him.

UMass-Lowell and BU going for the Hockey East title today... GO RIVERHAWKS!!! (Connor Hellebuyck's team)

So UMass-Lowell has won Hockey East and Hellebuyck put up historic (and as it turns out, MVP-level) numbers in the tournament on par with numbers put up by Jimmy Howard and Cory Schneider. The difference? Hellebuyck was a freshie. He also improves his win percentage in NCAA hockey to an alarming .900 (18-2-0)
Meanwhile, Notre Dame-Michigan for the final CCHA crown...Damn the Irish! I wanted Ohio State-Michigan!
Wisconsin wins the WCHA Final Five by edging Colorado College 3-2.
Canisius wins Atlantic Hockey by slamming Mercyhurst 7-2.
Union edges a surprising Brown squad by a 3-1 count to win the ECAC, which was thought to be in the bag for either Renssalaer, who was upset in the first round by the Bears, or Quinnipiac, who was stunned in the semi by the Dutchmen

In today's NCAA hockey tournament action:
Yale STUNNED Minnesota, winning 3-2 in overtime. Jesse Root had the winner nine seconds into the extra frame, while Kenny Agostino - recently a part of the Iginla trade - put up a goal and assist for the Bulldogs. They'll face North Dakota in the West Regional final as the No Nicknamers rallied to edge Niagara 2-1. Two goals less than a minute apart by NoDak was too much for the Purple Eagles to overcome.
Meanwhile, in Manchester, UMass-Lowell spanked Wisconsin 6-1. Connor Hellebuyck made 31 saves while six different RiverHawks scored. They'll face the regional host, New Hampshire, in the regional final, as four unanswered goals allowed the Wildcats to bury Denver, 5-2. Trevor van Riemsdyk had a goal and an assist for UNH.
Scheduled tomorrow:
Union vs. Boston College (East Regional Semifinal) Canisius vs. Quinnipiac (East Regional Semifinal) Yale vs. North Dakota (West Regional Final) Minnesota State-Mankato vs. Miami (Midwest Regional Semifinal) St. Cloud State vs. Notre Dame (Midwest Regional Semifinal) Massachusetts-Lowell vs. New Hampshire (Northeast Regional Final)

Miami smacked and blanked Minnesota State-Mankato 4-0. Curtis McKenzie (DAL) scored the winning goal, while Blake Coleman (NJ) had two assists.
