WICHITA THUNDER LOSE HOME DEBUT TO WINTER HAWKS BY 4-2 MARGIN
by Paula Mueller Thunder Beat Reporter
The Winter Hawks spoiled the Outlaws farm club's Wichita debut. The Thunder went 0-5 on the PP, and were never really in the contest. Those few that stuck around saw propspect Tanner Person score a sweet wrister with only 1 second left on the clock.
The rematch takes place Wednesday in Cambridge.

LATENDRESSE HAT TRICK LEADS THUNDER TO DECISIVE 5-2 VICTORY OVER HARFANGS
by Paula Mueller Thunder Beat Reporter
Besides Latendresse's hattrick, Porter had a goal and an assist, and Martinek and Pearson each had 2 assists. Brian Boucher improves to 3-1, attempting to earn back the trust of the Outlaws organization who went out in the offseason and got Bernier and Howard.
The Thunder is having a nice preseason. They have a 3 game winning streak going now.

CUCUMBERS 5 - THUNDER 4 POWER FAILURE BY WICHITA IN CHICOUTIMI TWO LAST SECOND SHORTHANDED GOALS SNATCH DEFEAT FROM THE JAWS OF VICTORY
by Paula Mueller Thunder Beat Reporter
In one of the worst chokes I have ever seen, the Wichita Thunder gave away two shorthanded goals in the final 40 seconds of this contest, to the delight of the two hundred some odd fans remaining in attendence in Chicoutimi.
Goc and Gaustad respectively, scored the two improbable shorthanded goals within seconds of each other. There is just no way to find a bright spot here. No way this should happen. The Thunder held a closed meeting and practice today in Wichita. No doubt film will be broken down of this debacle. If I hadn't witnessed it myself, I would have to see the films. This has to be 1,000,000 - 1 odds on this happening.
I hope I never see it again. The only good thing for the Thunder is it is still pre-season. What a humiliating turn of events. Goc, Jokinen, and Gaustad definitely seem to have Wichita's number. Wow.

THUNDER 3- CRACKPIPES 1 PAIR OF ZACK PHILLIPS LATE 3RD PERIOD GOALS PUTS WICHITA IN THE WIN COLUMN
by Paul Mueller Thunder Beat Reporter
The Thunder are quietly having themselves a nice preseason. Zack Phillips twice scored on a pair of assists by promising younster Vlad "The Impaler" Tarasenko. Brian Boucher is trying to earn his high salary for a farm goalie. He is now 5-2 on the preseason. We have yet to see Khabibulin bewtween the pipes. He will probably have a quick hook when he does get a start.

THUNDER MID-SEASON REPORT
by Paula Mueller Thunder Beat Reporter
After a hot start, the Thunder have cooled off and have been playing .500 hockey as of late. They sit 5th in the Western Conference, within striking distance of the Prarie Dogs for 4th. They need to step it up a bit or risk slipping in the standings. One cause might be an exhausted goaltender in Boucher.
It seems the Outlaws don't trust Khabibulin and he has been working in a coaching capacity. Word has it that Jonathan Bernier may be headed to Wichita to get some starts.
Tanner Pearson has been a standout for the Thunder offensively, with 27 goals and 30 assists. Brandon Sutter is right behind him with 56 points (22 g - 34 a). The Thunder have been a pleasant surprise, who could provide Joplin some players ready to move into Heroes Arena next year and make some noise in NLHS-5.

THUNDER ANNHILATE AIR FORCE 8-3 ON SUTTERS HATTRICK AND 5 3RD PERIOD GOALS
by Paula Mueller Thunder Beat Reporter
The only thing the Thunder lost tonight was a fight when Theo Peckham was outslugged by Derek Dorsett. An even dozen Wichita players found the scoresheet. Abdelkader posted a pair of goals and Kevin porter had a trifecta of assists. Jonatahan Bernier brings his farm record to 2-0. He will probably be getting more starts because it looks like 40-year old Nikolei Khabibulin is being used solely in a coaching capacity.
The Thunder visit the hipsters Sunday.

THIS TIME, THUNDER ANNHILATED BY HIPSTERS 7-2
by Paula Mueller Thunder Beat Reporter
Jonathan Bernier was pummeled. Just an ugly game for Wichita in general.
Luckily, there is a game tomorrow vs. the Bisons in Wichita. Paper bags to the first 10,000 fans to hide their identity. Joking. Hopefully they won't be needed and the Thunder can play like a team wants to catch the Prarie Dogs in the standings instead on losing ground.

THUNDER BY A TOUCHDOWN OVER BISONS 7-2
No paper bags were necessary today, as the took out their previous loss to the Hipsters out on the visiting Bisons.
Kevin Porter with 2 goals and 3 assists for a sweet 5-point game. Bernier stopped 26 of 28 to improve to 3-1 for Wichita.
The rematch is Wednesday at the Bisons and let's hope the win 1 big, lose 1 big cycle can be broken.

THUNDER 5 - BISONS 4 (OT)
by Paula Mueller Thunder Beat Reporter
Kevin Porter with another strong game. The Thunder couldn't hold the lead in the 3rd, but a slick backhander by Zach Phillips in Overtime won it for Wichita.
The Patriots visit Wichita to take on the Thunder Friday.

Tough loss. A high-sticking penalty to Downie allows Batrschi to tie it very late in the 3rd. Then Bergenheim with the shootout winner.
The Thunder visit the Millionaires next.

BILLIONAIRES 6 - THUNDER 5 (OT)
A good showing for the Thunder, especially the 3rd period. Unfortunately (Ay) Caron found the back of the net during the first few frenzied seconds of overtime.
The Thunder visit the Tulsa Oilers Wednesday with 4th place in the West on the line.
