![](http://www.heleneboudreau.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/chronicle-herald-100h.jpg) Emotions run high as Vikings and Warriors finish moving Team also announces protected player listPhilipp Cridland, Sports Reporter HALIFAX, Nova Scotia - It has been a tough few days for Montreal Vikings coach Scotty Bowman, as he and other members of the team finish cleaning out their offices at the Bell Centre before moving the team (soon to be officially renamed the Nova Scotia Titans) to their new location at the Metro Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. “I’m not gonna lie, it hasn’t exactly been easy the past few weeks, getting everything packed up for the move” stated Bowman. “There’s no question Montreal is a wonderful hockey market, but with all the competition from other leagues and levels, and you combine it with greater prospects down in Nova Scotia, it was definitely in the best interest of the team to move down to Halifax.” This simplicity also applied with the relocation of their farm team in Swift Current, who will also be moving to Nova Scotia, playing out of the Centre 200 arena in Sydney, Cape Breton. “When looking at the logistics of things,” said Titans GM Jonathan Hiseler, “it was in the best interest of the franchises to move the farm team (now known as the Cape Breton Clippers) closer to the Titans new location. We mean no disrespect to the people of Swift Current, and I hope that a pro team that’s located more closely to them will locate their farm team there in the future.” Also today, the Titans announced their list of players to be protected during the upcoming expansion draft. They are listed as follows: Centers: Jeff Carter T.J. Oshie Blair Betts Frans Nielsen Pierre-Marc Bouchard Maxim Lapierre Wingers: Daniel Sedin(C) Brenden Morrow(A) Blake Comeau Jon Sim Marian Hossa(A) Jason Pominville Milan Hejduk Chris Stewart Lee Stempniak Michael Ryder Bryan Little Tyler Ennis(R) Defensemen: Pavel Kubina Tyler Myers(R) Zbynek Michalek Alexander Edler Paul Martin Victor Hedman(R) Tom Gilbert Chris Butler Goaltenders: Tuukka Rask(R) Cory Schneider (R) Wild-Cards: Derick Brassard Joshua Bailey The final list of protected players is what was widely expected by analysts, except perhaps with the inclusion of Derick Brassard, whom many thought it would’ve have been better to protect someone like Aaron Rome or Jay Harrison. So the Titans farm team could look extremely different next season, not just because of the new location, but because of the players, which will definitely have an impact on some people who currently play for them. Hiseler though, had this to say: “We’re going to go out and build a contender for next season while also nurturing our farm team talent, that is my expectation, and I am confident that we will meet it.” The teams new uniforms are to be unveiled in the future, with the Titans colors announced as Silver and Black, and the Clippers colors as Green and Gold. It was also announced today that Patrick Roy will be taking over as head coach of the Cape Breton Clippers from Dale Hunter.

On the other side, Milan Hejduk was saddened to leave the Titans, but was very upbeat about his future in Seattle.
